Coaching Youth Baseball-A Guide for Parents and Coaches - Downloads
Some downloads have been added to the new Coaching Youth Baseball site.
2 are to help the coaches job easier in youth baseball.
There is a code of conduct coaches can use as an example, to hopefully eliminate any problems from the beginning. I have found having the kids and parents sign a code of conduct form lets them know right from the start you are more interested in educating the kids instead of arguing politics and bad calls.
A Player evaluation checklist has been added also. This is useful for new recreational and select teams.
You can simply check the boxes in different categories and then review with other coaches to assist you in beginning placements of your defense.
One of my favorite is the Daily Baseball Drills.
It is specifically designed for a parent or coach to work one on one on some key basic skills in 30 minutes.
It is divided into 2 sections..Pitching and Hitting. These Work! While it is called Daily Baseball Drills..In Coaching Youth Baseball you will have a couple of practices a week, and there simply is not enough time to give the one on one work with each child that they may need(especially at different levels) .. If You as a parent follow the Daily Baseball Drills 2 or 3 times a week..You will see a vast and quick improvement in your childs ability and success. And a very happy Youth Baseball Coach.
